The 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document defines Mosquito Hunters as a mobile, territory-based Pest Hunters-Mosquito Hunters-Humbug Holiday Lighting Business. The franchisee sells outdoor pest control and holiday lighting services at customer properties, while Mosquito Hunters, LLC controls the authorized service menu, core standards, designated systems, supplier rules, and much of the lead-generation infrastructure.
Demand enters through centrally managed digital media, local marketing, referrals, brand websites, and required phone channels. The unit quotes and schedules work in designated software, sends a Service Vehicle and field operator to the property, performs the authorized service, records the job, resolves customer issues, and reports operating data back to Mosquito Hunters, LLC.

What does the franchisee sell, and who buys it?
The unit must offer all services Mosquito Hunters, LLC authorizes for its Territory and may not add unapproved services. The 2026 offer combines recurring or one-time outdoor pest-control work with a separate seasonal holiday-lighting workflow for residential and commercial properties.
Pest Hunters-Mosquito Hunters
The FDD describes outdoor control of mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, ants, spiders, rodents, cockroaches and other pests through spraying and maintenance programs. Item 19 defines a customer as a residential or commercial property receiving at least one treatment and distinguishes one-time work from recurring programs.

The required second service family covers design, installation, maintenance, removal and storage of holiday lighting and décor. The consumer journey therefore continues after installation: the unit maintains the display during the season, removes it afterward, and stores the lighting and décor for the next cycle.

The sequence is also described by the official Humbug Holiday Lighting consumer site.Mosquito Hunters, LLC can change the types of authorized services. The franchisee must offer the authorized menu and may not use Business equipment for another business or purpose without approval. That makes product scope a franchisor-controlled operating variable, not a local merchandising decision. Source: 2026 FDD, Item 16, p. 33; Franchise Agreement §7.C, pp. 15-16.
How does work move through a Mosquito Hunters unit?
The FDD does not publish a single scripted customer journey, but the agreements and official consumer channels establish a verifiable six-stage operating path from lead generation through field service, customer recovery, recordkeeping and weekly reporting.

Designated suppliers provide essential vehicle, software, phone and accounting inputs; the FDD does not impose a published employee headcount.

- Hires and manages employees and controls labor relations and employment practices.

The current agreement is not an absentee operating model. The franchisee must devote full time, energies and attention to the Business. An on-premises supervisor may be hired, but that person must complete Mosquito Hunters, LLC training and agree to confidentiality requirements. Which suppliers, assets and technology are mandatory?
The operating system is heavily specification-driven: a Service Vehicle, field equipment, approved products and supplies, business-management software, standard office software, phone systems and accounting processes must remain compatible with Mosquito Hunters, LLC requirements.
Field stack
The unit must have at least one suitable Service Vehicle and use approved application and installation equipment. The Franchise Agreement specifically requires a mist blower and permits Mosquito Hunters, LLC to modify or substitute required delivery equipment. LDI exclusively outfits the Service Vehicle.
Software and data stack
The unit licenses designated pest-control and holiday-lighting software used for customer/prospect lists, direct mail, accounting information, revenue tracking, service schedules, GPS directions and inquiries. Microsoft Office and QuickBooks are also specified. Mosquito Hunters, LLC receives unlimited independent access to non-employment data generated and stored by the system.
Supplier approval stack
Mosquito Hunters, LLC maintains approved products and supplier lists, may designate exclusive sources, may revoke approvals, and can require purchases through a designated marketplace. A proposed unapproved product or supplier must be submitted for review; the FDD states the franchisor will decide within 30 days.
Operating manual stack
The 2026 Operations Manual totals 490 pages across the Financial Vocabulary Booklet, Holiday Lighting Playbook, Marketing Playbook, People Playbook, Pest Control Playbook, Sales Playbook and Strategic Growth Coaching Materials. Mandatory specifications and procedures can be updated and become part of the operating requirements.
The franchisee controls employment data, but not the wider business-data boundary. The Franchise Agreement gives Mosquito Hunters, LLC and its designees independent access to operational data in required hardware and software, while also allowing the franchisor to require new or modified technology. Source: 2026 FDD, Item 11, pp. 23-24; Franchise Agreement §7.I, p. 18.
How protected is the Territory, and where can the unit sell?
The Territory is geographically defined and starts with at least 25,000 single-family residences, but it is expressly not exclusive. The franchisee generally must derive Business revenue from customer properties inside that Territory and needs prior written approval to service outside it.
| Rule | What the 2026 FDD permits or restricts | Operating consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Territory overlap | If the franchisee is compliant, Mosquito Hunters, LLC generally will not grant another Hunters-Humbug territory that materially overlaps. | Protection is narrower than exclusivity. |
| Cross-territory work | Outside-Territory service requires prior written approval and may be allowed only as specified. | Customer address must be checked before booking or servicing. |
| Alternative channels | The franchisor and affiliates retain rights to sell similar products through dissimilar channels, including Internet or catalog channels. | The Territory does not block every competing channel. |
| Affiliate brands | LAWN DOCTOR, HOLIDAY LIGHTING HEROES and SPARKLE SQUAD operations may solicit customers in the same Territory under other marks. | Affiliate-brand competition can exist inside the geographic area. |
After four years, Mosquito Hunters, LLC may reduce a Territory if its pest-control Market Share falls below 70% of the average Market Share of PEST HUNTERS-MOSQUITO HUNTERS Businesses operating four or more years. This Market Share test applies to the outdoor pest-control portion, not the Humbug Holiday Lighting service line. Source: 2026 FDD, Item 12, p. 27.
What does Item 20 show about the outlet base?
Item 20 shows a fully franchised year-end system in 2025: 145 franchised outlets and no company-owned outlets. Franchised outlet count rose from 122 at year-end 2023 to 135 in 2024 and 145 in 2025.
Systemwide outlets at year-end
Franchised versus company-owned outlets, December 31 of each year
Interpretation: the franchised base expanded by 23 outlets from year-end 2023 to year-end 2025. Item 20 Table 4 separately shows that the six Illinois company-owned outlets were sold to franchisees during 2025, producing a zero company-owned count at year-end.
Source: 2026 FDD, Item 20, Table 1, p. 46; Table 4, p. 51. Counts are outlets, not unique franchise owners or Territories.Pest-control field work also depends on applicable pesticide licensing. The franchisee must maintain required licenses, permits and certificates; the U.S. EPA notes that restricted-use pesticide applicators or supervisors must be certified under federal rules and applicable state, territorial or tribal law. Source: 2026 FDD, Item 1, p. 2; Franchise Agreement §7.F, p. 17; EPA applicator certification guidance.
Which operating detailsshould be verified before signing?
The FDD defines the control structure but leaves several implementation details to current supplier lists, software agreements, Operating Manual standards and local regulation. Those items can materially change how the unit is staffed, scheduled and serviced without changing the basic franchise format.
- Request the current designated pest-control and holiday-lighting software vendor names, contracts, required integrations and data-access permissions.
- Confirm the exact current phone stack, including any AI phone sales agent, soft phone, AI booking and predictive-dialing tools Mosquito Hunters, LLC presently requires.
- Obtain the current approved supplier list, Service Vehicle specification and LDI outfitting scope, including which inputs are designated, approved or exclusive-source.
- Ask for the current Territory Market Share benchmark, the calculation used after year four and the process for any boundary reduction.
- Map state pesticide-applicator licensing and supervision rules to the planned owner, supervisor and technician roles before assigning field duties.
- Ask how leads are handed off among centrally managed advertising, the call-center/phone system, local staff and the designated scheduling software; the FDD identifies these components but does not publish the complete routing logic.
Operating-model synthesis. Mosquito Hunters converts centrally and locally generated demand into property-level pest-control treatments and seasonal Humbug Holiday Lighting projects. The franchisee owns full-time local execution; Mosquito Hunters, LLC controls authorized services, supplier specifications, marketing systems, technology and data access.
The Territory limits where the unit normally serves customers but is not exclusive against every channel or affiliated brand. The largest undisclosed operating question is the live handoff among the call-center/AI phone stack, local personnel and designated scheduling software.
