TOTAL:

Wings Etc. operates as a two-format restaurant system: a full-service Grill and Pub and a carryout-focused Wings Etc. 2Go. The franchisee employs and manages the restaurant team, fulfills approved menu orders, and maintains the unit; Wings Etc., Inc. controls the menu, recipes, suppliers, technology, marketing rules, data access, and operating standards.

Operating model in one view

Guests order approved food and beverages through dine-in, counter, carryout, and franchisor-approved digital channels. Front-of-house and back-of-house employees move each order through Revel POS and the kitchen display system; a Certified Manager supervises execution, while approved distributors, Olo, Restaurant365, Punchh, Vantiv, and other designated providers support supply, ordering, accounting, loyalty, and payment functions.

Offering and customer

What does a Wings Etc. franchise sell, and who buys it?

The system sells fresh, made-to-order wings and an approved menu of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, appetizers, beverages, and other required items to the general public. The customer promise differs by format: full-service dining and carryout at Grill and Pub, versus a faster, carryout-led service path at Wings Etc. 2Go.

Grill and Pub

Full-service restaurant and bar

The FDD describes a family-oriented sports-themed restaurant, generally 3,500 to 4,500 square feet with seating for up to 200. It offers onsite dining and carryout, plus beer, wine, and liquor where licensed. Official location pages show approved pickup, delivery, and catering at participating restaurants.

See the official full-service location example.

Wings Etc. 2Go

Carryout-focused quick-service format

The FDD specifies 1,200 to 2,000 square feet and zero to 16 seats. The company-owned prototype uses self-service kiosks, Revel stations, pickup shelving, a streamlined menu, and no alcohol. A franchised 2Go remains governed by the FDD, Franchise Agreement, Manual, and approved equipment list.

See the official Wings Etc. 2Go operating description and current 2Go location page.

The franchisee cannot substitute its own menu. Wings Etc., Inc. can modify Menu Items and specifies recipes, portions, appearance, taste, packaging, service materials, and fresh rather than frozen chicken wings. Catering, delivery, lawful gaming, vending devices, and retail merchandise are separate permissions or requirements.

Owner role and staffing

Who runs the unit each day?

A Certified Manager runs onsite day-to-day operations and must be present and actively supervising at least 40 hours per week. The franchisee must also maintain at least two assistant managers and enough trained employees to provide efficient service; Wings Etc., Inc. does not hire, schedule, discipline, or pay unit employees.

Owner participation

A Principal Owner may appoint an employee as Certified Manager, but must still complete training, remain responsible for compliance, attend required conventions or send an approved substitute, and be available to the franchisor. The FDD does not label the model absentee or semi-absentee.

Franchisee and unit team

  • Hire, discharge, schedule, compensate, and supervise restaurant employees.
  • Maintain licenses, permits, insurance, inventory, sanitation, and sufficient staffing.
  • Operate dining, bar, counter, kitchen, pickup, and approved delivery functions.
  • Keep records, verify Gross Sales, report, and fund transfers.

Wings Etc., Inc.

  • Set System standards, recipes, products, technology, and marketing rules.
  • Maintain the Brand Fund and update Approved Suppliers and Approved Supplies Lists.
  • Provide consultation, refresher training, and Manual updates.
  • Inspect the Restaurant, test products, access data, and audit records.

  • Distribute designated food, beverage, paper, and chemicals.
  • Run ordering, loyalty, gift card, router, POS, KDS, and back-office platforms.
  • Perform approved delivery, advertising, or supplier services.
  • Provide invoices and data available to the franchisor.

Inputs and data

Which suppliers and technology are mandatory?

The franchisee must buy or use approved food, beverage, packaging, equipment, signage, and technology inputs. Wings Etc., Inc. can designate sole or approved sources, replace suppliers, modify specifications, require upgrades, and retrieve all data produced by the Restaurant's information system.

Gordon Food Service and SGC FoodserviceOnly approved suppliers for Pepsi and designated items in their distribution areas.
RevelApproved POS and kitchen display system for recording all sales.
Mobo Systems, doing business as OloOnline ordering platform for approved digital orders.
COMPEAT / Restaurant365Required back-office platform for inventory, sales, labor, invoicing, and reporting.
Punchh and VantivLoyalty app and system gift card programs.
UnifiManaged-router program for connectivity and guest WiFi.

In Gordon Food Service and SGC Foodservice distribution areas, designated products are restricted to those distributors; elsewhere, another Approved Supplier is required. Restaurant365 is mandatory, although Item 8 permits acquisition from a supplier the franchisee chooses. There is no purchasing cooperative, and the franchisor may retain supplier credits.

Technology requirement

The franchisor has full access to Computer System data. It may change the POS, hardware, software, reporting method, or supplier and generally gives six months to install an enhancement. The franchisee pays for acquisition, connectivity, maintenance, security, upgrades, and breach response.

Control allocation

What does the franchisor control, and what remains with the franchisee?

Wings Etc., Inc. controls the branded customer promise and the systems used to document it. The franchisee controls the local employer relationship and daily business execution, but only within the approved menu, location, channels, suppliers, hours, marketing, technology, and Manual requirements.

  • Menu and productionFranchisor selects Menu Items, recipes, ingredients, portions, packaging, and equipment. Franchisee purchases inventory and executes service.
  • People decisionsFranchisee controls employment decisions. Franchisor approves Certified Manager qualifications and requires management training.
  • PricingFranchisee has the sole right to set minimum prices. Franchisor may recommend prices and establish written maximum prices.
  • Hours and conditionFranchisor sets operating hours through the Manual and may require maintenance, inspection correction, or safety closure.
  • MarketingFranchisor controls Brand Fund use, creative, online advertising, and cooperatives. Franchisee executes approved local marketing.
  • Records and dataFranchisee records daily sales and retains books for 36 months. Franchisor may retrieve data, audit, contact suppliers, and reconstruct sales.
  • Generative AIFranchise Agreement §6.R requires written consent for Generative AI in marketing, customer communications, planning, analysis, optimization, or social media and bars uploading Confidential Information.

Territory and channels

How do territory, online orders, catering, and delivery work?

A single Restaurant receives an Authorized Location, not an exclusive territory. The franchisee may participate in franchisor-approved online ordering, loyalty, catering, and delivery programs, but cannot independently create a competing website, branded internet sales channel, catering operation, or delivery relationship.

Territory limit

Wings Etc., Inc. and its affiliates may operate or franchise nearby Restaurants, use other brands, and distribute branded products through grocery, club, convenience, wholesale, catalog, or internet channels without compensation to the franchisee. A Development Area offers conditional protection for scheduled units, but excludes Special Sites such as airports, stadiums, hospitals, campuses, hotels, and grocery stores.

The FDD requires Olo online ordering and the Wings Rewards app, while the Franchise Agreement prohibits a franchisee-created domain containing the Marks and unapproved online sales. Delivery or catering approval may require added insurance, packaging, equipment, POS modifications, billing controls, and a designated provider.

The Brand Fund finances system advertising, digital media, incentives, and website or app development. The franchisee conducts approved local promotion or joins a designated cooperative. Electronic advertising and email using the Marks require approval.

System footprint

What does Item 20 show about the outlet network?

At fiscal year-end 2025, the U.S. system contained 82 outlets: 56 franchised Restaurants and 26 affiliate-owned Restaurants operated by the WEOC Entities. During 2025, three franchised outlets opened and one ceased operations for other reasons, producing a net increase of two franchised outlets; company-owned count remained unchanged.

U.S. outlet composition at fiscal year-end 2025

Exact Item 20 population: 82 Restaurants

82 total outlets Franchised: 56 68.3% of system outlets WEOC Entities: 26 31.7% affiliate-owned Reconciliation: 56 + 26 = 82; 68.3% + 31.7% = 100.0%

Interpretation: the network is majority franchised, while the WEOC Entities operate nearly one-third of the outlet base and provide the company-owned operating population referenced in training and system support materials.

Buyer verification

Which operating questions remain material?

The FDD defines the control structure, but several unit-level details depend on the approved site, format, state law, supplier territory, Manual version, and current technology configuration. A buyer should resolve those dependencies for the exact Restaurant rather than generalize from a company-owned prototype or a different market.

  • Confirm the format-specific equipment, seating, alcohol permissions, and operating hours.
  • Identify the distributor serving the proposed Authorized Location.
  • Reconcile the Revel terminal rule with required Wings Etc. 2Go kiosks and POS stations.
  • Obtain current Manual sections for recipes, food safety, BOH, FOH, Olo, Restaurant365, PCI compliance, and POS.
  • Determine whether delivery, catering, gaming, a cooperative, or Special Site rules apply.
  • Confirm the Principal Owner, Certified Manager, and assistant managers for training and coverage.

Operating-model synthesis

Wings Etc. converts demand for wings, pub food, beverages, and approved off-premise orders into recorded Restaurant sales through a controlled menu, Approved Suppliers, Revel POS, and standardized production. The franchisee's central responsibility is staffing and execution. The strongest dependency is the franchisor's power to change products, suppliers, technology, data, and Manual standards. The key distinction is Grill and Pub versus Wings Etc. 2Go; the largest open question is the approved package for the buyer's location.
